DroneShield enables bespoke counter-UAS solutions with new tool

DroneShield has introduced a new online capability in the DroneShield Access Portal that allows customers to design and visualize tailored counter-UAS systems for any site. The company has also implemented a firmware updater aimed at simplifying sensor management.

The new planning tool allows users to create custom layouts for counter-UAS installations in a 3D digital environment. It includes visual representations of sensor coverage areas and provides estimates for power, network and cost requirements.

According to DroneShield, the feature is intended to help customers model prospective deployments at locations such as military bases or civilian infrastructure sites. Once a configuration is selected, the system allows clients to proceed with ordering hardware, installation and training.

DroneShield also launched a firmware updater within the same portal. The company said the feature is designed for organizations operating multiple sensors, providing a centralized way to manage software updates and access AI model upgrades. DroneShield releases these updates quarterly as part of its subscription service.

These updates follow the recent release of the UAS Incident Platform, also housed in the Access Portal, which aggregates global reports of drone activity and emerging threats.

DroneShield CTO Angus Bean said the goal of the Planning Tool is designed to improve the connection between development teams and end users:

“The DroneShield Access Portal has always been a key differentiator for us, providing the shortest path between our R&D teams and the end user in the field. Anything that smooths out that process allows our customers to stay at the forefront of the race between drones and counterdrone technology. Opening this up to a two-way communication with the planning tool is a big step in keeping ahead of threats as they evolve around the world.” he said.

DroneShield continues to expand its digital services alongside its physical C-UAS hardware portfolio, with the Access Portal serving as a hub for planning, monitoring and maintaining counter-UAS operations.
