GFV investit dans les systèmes C-UAS et EW de Karadag

Green Flag Ventures (GFV) a annoncé a lead investment in Karadag Technologies, a defence technology company focused on counter-drone and EW systems. This partnership aims to strengthen Karadag’s ability to meet the increasing global demand for C-UAS technologies.

Karadag Technologies is addressing a critical need in modern warfare with solutions to counter the UAS threat. As drones become more prevalent in both military and civilian contexts, the importance of effective countermeasures grows.

Karadag’s products are designed to detect, track, jam and neutralise hostile UAS with high precision. Their technology includes a real-time data-sharing platform that connects all deployed systems, ensuring that when one unit detects a threat, the information is immediately accessible to others. This enhances decision-making and operational effectiveness on the battlefield.

William “Dollar” Young, GFV’s Advisor for Guerre électronique, emphasised the strategic importance of Karadag’s technology:

“Karadag’s solutions are crucial in today’s evolving battlefield. Their continuous innovation and real-time adaptability make them a vital asset for modern defence strategies.” Dr. Young, who previously led the United States Air Force’s 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing, brings extensive expertise to the partnership, highlighting the significance of Karadag’s offerings in addressing current and future threats.

A step in the right direction

Karadag Technologies was founded in 2023 by Dr. Eric Kadyrov, in response to the escalating security challenges following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Kadyrov, who holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Cornell University, has a strong background in tech and entrepreneurship. His leadership has driven Karadag’s rapid development into a key player in the counter-UAS sector.

“Teaming with Green Flag Ventures marks a pivotal moment for Karadag. It enables us to fulfil existing demand, scale our operations, refine our technology and expand our impact in both military and civilian sectors worldwide,” Kadyrov said.

“For Green Flag Ventures, this investment goes beyond financial support. It represents a commitment to the resilience and innovation of Ukrainian technology,” stated Deborah Fairlamb, GFV’s Co-Founding GP. “Karadag represents the resilience and ingenuity of Ukrainian tech. By investing in them, we are not only supporting groundbreaking technology but also contributing to the strength and recovery of Ukraine’s economy and defence capabilities.”

Mike Baird, GFV’s Kyiv-based Venture Partner and a retired United States Air Force Officer, highlighted the practical implications of Karadag’s technology:

“Karadag’s innovative approach to counter-UAS technology is a game-changer. Their ability to rapidly adapt to evolving threats makes them a critical partner for both military and civilian applications.”

Beyond the initial investment, GFV will provide strategic support to Karadag, including securing additional funding, connecting the company with key stakeholders in defence and commercial sectors, and offering ongoing access to industry experts to maximise growth and market penetration. Co-Founding GP, Justin Zeefe, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating:

“We believe Karadag is uniquely positioned to deliver significant returns, given the urgent demand for their products and their clear technological advantages.”

As the global counter-UAS market continues to grow, the collaboration between GFV and Karadag Technologies will likely play a significant role in advancing defence capabilities, ensuring that military and civilian entities worldwide are equipped to counter the rising threat posed by drones.
