PerceptView introduces long-range camera system for C-UAS surveillance

PerceptView has introduced the Tactical 785HD Camera System, expanding its portfolio of long-range surveillance and counter-UAS camera solutions. The new system is positioned alongside the company’s existing Tactical 550HD, with PerceptView outlining differences in range, zoom options and deployment flexibility between the two platforms.

Both the Tactical 785HD and Tactical 550HD are designed to provide infrared and electro-optical visibility for defense and critical infrastructure protection missions. Each system supports full remote operation and is intended for use in counter-UAS and persistent surveillance roles.

According to the company, the Tactical 785HD extends tracking performance beyond the Tactical 550HD’s stated 3.5 to 5 kilometer range. When tracking a DJI Mavic 3 class drone, the 785HD is reported to reach beyond 6.5 kilometers. The system offers both wider and narrower zoom configurations to increase pixels on target while maintaining responsiveness comparable to the Tactical 550HD.

Both camera systems use PerceptView’s 9520 electro-optical daylight camera and are designed to be field-swappable. Plug-and-play architecture and quick-connect mounting hardware allow operators to exchange systems rapidly based on mission requirements. Remote camera control is provided through PerceptView’s RemoteView software, with optional integration of automatic target classification tools such as Walaris and CFAM.

PerceptView states that the Tactical 785HD and Tactical 550HD are designed for expeditionary and fixed-site use. Each system can be transported and deployed by a single operator and is fly-away transportable in cases weighing under 100 pounds. The systems can be used independently or integrated into PerceptView’s broader Counter-UAS TSN Shield360 and EX-SUADS solutions.

Within an integrated architecture, the camera systems serve as the optical layer alongside radar, Remote ID, GNSS, ADS-B and other sensors, including DFend’s EnforceAir. Sensor data, camera control and alerting functions are managed through PerceptView’s AwareView command-and-control interface.

PerceptView positions both systems as options for organizations seeking long-range visual detection, tracking and classification of drones and other aerial threats, either as standalone assets or as part of a multi-sensor counter-UAS deployment.
