The inaugural Counter UAS Middle East & Africa conference, due to take place in Amman on June 30 – July 1, 2025, has been officially rescheduled. The event’s organizers, SAE Media Group and the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), announced the decision today in light of recent developments impacting travel to the region.
The conference will now take place on 16 – 17 September, 2025.
The conference will be the first dedicated platform for counter-UAS professionals operating in the Middle East and Africa, bringing together government officials, military representatives and industry leaders. It will provide an opportunity for cross-border collaboration on the rapidly evolving threat landscape in the Middle East and Africa.
“This unique meeting will allow the key regional players to gather and share the latest strategies and technologies to defeat the continued emergence of UAS threats,” said Miles Dixon, Managing Director of SMG Conferences, at the original launch of the event. “By providing unprecedented access to defence forces from the Middle East and Africa, the conference presents unparalleled opportunities for all participants.”
The event will feature presentations and exhibits focused on detection, jamming, interception and the integration of counter-drone systems into national and regional defense frameworks. With the escalation of drone use in regional conflicts, particularly in the Middle East and Africa, the event is a timely opportunity for defense and security professionals to engage on emerging challenges and operational solutions.
Eng. Rateb Abu Al-Ragheb, Head of Sales & Business Development at JODDB, previously emphasized the strategic intent of the gathering:
“Our goal is to gather experts, specialists and decision-makers in the field of counter-drone systems under one roof to exchange expertise and knowledge, facilitate communication and discuss challenges and available solutions,” he said.
SAE Media Group, known for its counter-UAS events in Europe and North America, will continue working closely with JODDB to deliver the event in September. Organizers reaffirmed their commitment to bringing together the regional defense community at a later date to address the growing importance of counter-UAS technology in protecting infrastructure and national security in the region.
