Weapons Integration Engineer

ATSC is seeking a skilled and innovative C-UxS Weapons Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating weapon systems onto collaborative unmanned platforms. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and performance of our unmanned systems in various operational environments.

Key Functions:

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends related to UxS and C-UxS capabilities.
  • Contribute to research and development projects aimed at advancing C-UxS technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, software developers, and military stakeholders to define and implement weapon system integration requirements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and feasibility studies to assess the compatibility of different weapon systems with unmanned platforms.
  • Design and develop mounting solutions, interfaces, and electrical/mechanical components necessary for weapon system integration.
  • Develop test plans and procedures to validate the performance, accuracy, and reliability of integrated weapon systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to weapon system integration during development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols in all phases of the integration process.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and support personnel.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in designing and integrating weapon systems onto unmanned platforms, preferably in a defense or aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of weapons systems, including firearms, missiles, and/or other munitions, and their operational characteristics.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and modeling.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and integration techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), or autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD and other military specifications related to weapon system integration.
  • Previous experience working on defense or military contracts.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Work is typically performed in an office setting.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.
  • Must have the ability to lift 15-25 pounds.
