Ukraine neutralizes 181 drones in overnight attack

Ukraine’s air defenses neutralized 181 out of 207 drones launched by Russia overnight into June 11, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, although strike drones still reached 14 locations.

In a statement, the Air Force said: “According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defenses shot down/suppressed 181 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Herber, Italmas and other types in the north, south and east of the country.”

According to the Ukrainian military, the attack began at 6:00 p.m. on June 10 and involved 207 unmanned systems, including Shahed drones, including jet-powered variants, as well as Herber, Italmas, Banderol loitering munitions and Parodia decoy drones.

The drones were launched from multiple locations in Russia, including Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Chauda and Hvardiyske in occupied Crimea.

Ukraine said the attack was countered by aviation assets, air defense missile units, electronic warfare forces, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups.

Despite the reported interception rate, the Air Force said 21 strike drones hit targets across 14 locations. Debris from downed drones was also reported at 13 locations.

No additional details on the affected sites or the extent of damage were released.
