On his first day back in the Oval Office, President Donald Trump announced he is investigating the mysterious drone activity that has been troubling New Jersey since November. The issue, which led to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) imposing temporary flight restrictions over 57 municipalities, has left residents and officials searching for answers.

Trump seeks answers on New Jersey drones

While signing executive orders at the White House on Monday, Trump addressed the matter when questioned by a reporter.

“Is there anything we should be worried about with the New Jersey drones?” the reporter asked. Trump responded by deferring to his chief of staff, Susie Wiles.

“I would like to find out what it is and tell the people. In fact, I’d like to do that,” said Trump. He then turned to Wiles and instructed, “Could we find out what that was, Susie? Why don’t we find out immediately?”

Trump also offered his own speculation about the New Jersey drones.

“I can’t imagine it’s an enemy or there would have been… people would have gotten blown up already… maybe they were testing things. I don’t know why they wouldn’t have said what it was. A lot of them were flying over Bedminster which was interesting,” he remarked, referencing the town where he owns a home and golf club.

The drone mystery has been a growing concern since November, with thousands of sightings reported across New Jersey. Videos and images of the unidentified drones have flooded social media, fueling public curiosity and anxiety.

FAA restrictions and initial Trump response

In December, the FAA imposed temporary flight restrictions for “special security reasons” in response to these reports. The restrictions, which have now expired, barred unmanned aircraft from flying below 400 feet within a nautical mile of specified areas, including Bedminster.

This isn’t the first time Trump has addressed the issue. On January 9, just days before taking office, he promised to release a report on the alleged drone activity shortly after his inauguration. Last month, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to demand transparency.

“Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!” he wrote.

The mystery also disrupted Trump’s own plans. In December, he canceled a planned visit to his Bedminster property, citing security concerns related to the drones.

The unexplained activity over New Jersey continues to raise questions about its origins and purpose. As President Trump directs his administration to investigate, residents await clarity on a situation that has left many uneasy.
