European counter-drone company MyDefence is expanding its Asia-Pacific activities with the establishment of a presence in Singapore, which will serve as a focal point for the firm’s regional operations.
Singapore’s highly urbanised terrain, advanced infrastructure and emphasis on smart-city development present a complex operating environment for counter-drone systems.
MyDefence stated that its systems are developed and manufactured in Europe for global customers and in the United States for U.S. programs. The company added that its technologies have been informed by operational feedback from conflict environments, including Ukraine, and have been fielded by the U.S. Army.
“Singapore represents one of the most technically demanding environments for counter-drone operations,” said Dan Hermansen, CEO of MyDefence A/S. “Expanding our presence here ensures we can support customers in local time zones, while continuing to advance our capabilities in close cooperation with partners and end end-users.”
The expansion adds to MyDefence’s existing footprint in Europe and the United States and reflects the company’s approach of working with operational users during development and deployment. The firm cited customers including the U.S., German and Australian armed forces.
According to the company, the expansion will be implemented in phases, with local facilities and regional support capabilities expected to be established in the near term to support engagement across Southeast Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific.
