DroneShield adds ADS-B integration to DroneSentry C2 platform

DroneShield has integrated Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B) data into its DroneSentry-C2 platform, broadening its command-and-control system’s ability to distinguish between crewed and uncrewed aircraft in shared airspace.

The company said the update allows operators to fuse conventional aviation surveillance with counter-drone detection data, improving situational awareness and reducing the risk of misidentifying legitimate aircraft as drone threats. ADS-B, used globally in civil and military aviation, broadcasts the position, altitude, velocity and identity of aircraft equipped with the technology.

By incorporating ADS-B feeds into DroneSentry-C2, DroneShield aims to give defense, government and critical infrastructure operators a clearer airspace picture during complex operations. The capability is particularly relevant in mixed airspace environments, such as during major events, disaster response or near sensitive facilities where both drones and conventional aircraft may operate.

The announcement follows the recent launch of DroneSentry-C2 Enterprise, a multi-site command-and-control platform designed for distributed counter-drone networks. The ADS-B integration is part of DroneShield’s quarterly software update cycle and extends the system’s SensorFusionAI engine, which already combines data from radar, radio frequency and optical sensors.

DroneShield said the enhancement supports growing demand for integrated airspace awareness, particularly as drone activity increases near military and civilian sites. Recent incidents involving unidentified aerial objects have highlighted the need for tools that can help operators quickly differentiate legitimate air traffic from potential threats.

The company described the ADS-B integration as part of its strategy to evolve DroneSentry-C2 from a counter-drone interface into a comprehensive airspace management and decision-support system.
