MSI Defense Solutions has successfully delivered the first 70mm centric C-UAS system to the United States Army. This development comes as part of a contract awarded through the Department of Defense’s Rapid Acquisition Authority (RAA), which enables expedited procurement processes to address urgent operational needs.

The contract, issued by Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), includes six Electronic Advanced Ground Launcher System (EAGLS) units, along with engineering and maintenance support.

The EAGLS system is designed to counter the increasingly complex and numerous UAS threats that challenge military forces worldwide. It offers a flexible, cost-effective solution that can be deployed in various environments, whether mobile or stationary. This adaptability is crucial as the global landscape sees a rise in UAS use, necessitating robust protection measures for both personnel and critical assets.

The EAGLS system comprises a remote weapon station, Leonardo’s RPS-40 Multi-Mission Hemispheric radar and a sensor turret with electro-optical and infrared cameras. The 70mm rocket launcher fires laser-guided rockets at a range of 10km, matching the detection range of the RPS-40 radar.

Nguyen Trinh, CEO of MSI Defense Solutions, expressed the company’s pride in being selected for the contract:

“We are incredibly honoured to receive this award for our EAGLS, as we know it will save lives and protect critical infrastructure. This recognition is a testament to the unwavering commitment and expertise of our team, who continuously strive for excellence in everything they do.”

The introduction of the EAGLS C-UAS system highlights the Department of Defense’s ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities of forward-deployed forces, ensuring they are equipped to handle emerging and persistent UAS threats effectively.
