On the Detection of Não autorizado Drones- Techniques and Future Perspectives: A Review is a public work by Muhammad Asif Khan, Hamid Menouar, Aisha Eldeeb, Adnan Abu-Dayya, and Flora D. Salim.

The market for civilian drones is rapidly expanding. This surge in civilian drones introduces significant privacy and security concerns. Implementing a drone detection system has become essential to protect critical assets, infrastructure, and individuals’ privacy from the unauthorized use of commercial drones. Such a system must be efficient, accurate, robust, cost-effective, and scalable. Recognizing the importance of this issue, numerous drone detection approaches have been proposed over time. However, none have delivered sufficient performance due to inherent limitations in the detection technologies. Specifically, there are trade-offs among various performance metrics, such as accuracy, detection range, and resilience to environmental conditions. This necessitates an in-depth study and critical analysis of existing approaches, highlighting their potential benefits and limitations. This paper offers a comprehensive overview of current drone detection techniques and critically reviews the state-of-the-art methods. Based on this review, we provide key insights into the future of drone detection systems. The authors aim to give researchers and engineers a holistic understanding of the broader context of the drone detection challenge.
