EOS secures $45 million in counter-drone orders for Middle East and US customers

Electro Optic Systems has announced two new orders for counter-drone systems worth a combined $45 million, including a major sale to a defense contractor in the Middle East.

The Australia-based company said the largest order, valued at $42 million, is for its Slinger Remote Weapon System, a cannon-based kinetic counter-drone platform.

According to the company, the order includes the Slinger system along with cannons, platform integration, spare parts, training and related support equipment. The customer, described as a large defense prime contractor in the region, asked not to be identified due to national security considerations.

EOS said the systems are expected to be manufactured in Australia and delivered during 2026, pending export approvals from both Australia and the Сполучені Штати.

The company said the purchase is intended to strengthen regional air defense capabilities amid escalating conflicts across the Middle East.

In addition to the Middle East sale, EOS said its subsidiary EOS Defense Systems USA has received about $3 million in orders linked to a counter-drone weapon system for a U.S. defense contractor.

Details about the program, including the final product, customer and end user, were not disclosed due to the sensitive nature of the project. EOS said the equipment will also be produced in Australia and delivered in 2026.

The company said it has been in discussions with several governments in the Middle East regarding additional counter-drone capabilities.

Products under discussion include the Slinger system as well as directed-energy systems such as the APOLLO high-energy laser platform and other technologies designed to protect infrastructure from drone threats.

EOS said the current security situation in the region could accelerate demand for such systems but noted that no additional orders have been finalized.
