ParaZero Technologies Ltd. has received its first purchase order from a major Israeli defense entity for its DefendAir counter-UAS systems, marking the company’s first direct contract with the organization for its anti-drone technology.
The order comes as Israeli defense authorities continue to expand procurement of counter-UAS capabilities in response to lessons drawn from recent conflicts, where small drones have been widely used for reconnaissance, targeting and attack missions. ParaZero said the DefendAir systems will support broader efforts to address what defense planners have identified as a growing risk to ground forces, installations and ongoing operations.
DefendAir is a soft-kill counter-drone system designed to neutralize drone threats without relying on kinetic effects. The system uses a net-launching mechanism intended to intercept hostile drones while limiting the risk of collateral damage, a factor that can be critical in dense or urban environments. According to the company, DefendAir is structured as a multi-layered solution and is intended for use in the protection of personnel, infrastructure and sensitive sites.
ParaZero stated that DefendAir has undergone multiple field trials and has demonstrated full interception success during those tests. The company positions the system as part of a broader shift toward non-kinetic counter-UAS options, particularly where conventional air defense systems may be impractical or disproportionate.
“This procurement underscores the urgent need for advanced, scalable counter-drone capabilities,” said ParaZero CEO Ariel Alon, referencing the operational challenges posed by drones in recent conflicts. He described the order as a validation of the system’s performance in real-world defense scenarios.
ParaZero did not disclose the value of the purchase order or the number of systems involved, and said further details would depend on future deployment and procurement decisions.
