EDGE announces that they have been awarded two contracts that have a combined value of over AED 70 million. EDGE will deliver multiple V-PROTECT convoy protection solutions and SKYSHIELD counter-UAS solutions to a crucial international customer.
The agreements contribute to the UAE’s export development strategy and put the UAE as a key global player in the advanced technology and defense sectors. This information was announced at the International Defense Exhibition & Conference (IDEX 2023).
“We are pleased to announce yet another key export deal for SIGN4L and EDGE which will see us manufacture and deliver our UAE-made SKYSHIELD C-UAS and V-PROTECT convoy protection solutions to an international customer,” says Omar Al Zaabi, Senior VP, Trading & Mission Support at EDGE. “Signing these two deals underlines the quality of our offerings which are performing ahead of the competition and to the highest global standards. We will continue to promote our superior solutions on the international market to shore up the country’s export of advanced technology and strengthen the UAE’s defense industrial base.”
EDGE listed an order intake of over US $5 billion in 2022. Within the first two days of IDEX, the group announced new orders for products and solutions worth over AED 10 billion (US $2.7 billion). This also includes international exports. They are expected to report more orders before the end of the event.
V-PROTECT is a radio frequency (RF) communication jamming system. It is designed for convoy protection against radio-controlled improvised explosive devices (RC-IED). SKYSHIELD is a layered, comprehensive solution that delivers advanced counter-drone protection with a wide range of detection and interception capabilities.
